- Attire:
- Wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the season. Don’t forget to bring layers and a raincoat or umbrella – temperatures can vary throughout the day. We encourage you to check the Tuscaloosa weather forecast prior to your visit.
- Time Zone:
- The University of Alabama operates in the Central time zone.
- Campus Map:
- A map of the University is available at ua.edu/map. Please note that some UA map resources use Google Maps technology and are not always current due to ongoing campus improvements.
- Admissions Counseling:
- Admissions Representatives are available to speak with families at your convenience. Prior appointments are not necessary.
- Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center:
- You may visit the Randall Welcome Center Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. without a prior appointment.
- Event Reminders:
- Checking in: To allow time for parking and check-in, please arrive on campus at least thirty minutes prior to your scheduled event.
- Parking:
- If you are attending an event on campus, check your email for information about parking on campus.
- Visitors can park for free at the Randall Welcome Center with a valid visitor permit. Visitor parking permits can be acquired inside at the reception desk.

Open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. This is also the starting point for any scheduled campus tours.
The University of Alabama Student Center:
Registration for many on-campus events such as Bama Bound Orientation and University Days are hosted at the Student Center.
