Whether you’re planning a trip to tour campus or coming to town for a game, we look forward to welcoming you to Tuscaloosa and The University of Alabama campus. Our prominent campus is nationally renowned for its beauty, immaculate upkeep, award winning student housing and first-class academic buildings and laboratories. And while our campus is among the best in the nation, it’s not the only great thing about Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which USA Today ranked as one of the Top 30 college towns in America. The Druid City features a vibrant downtown with several music venues, art galleries and some of the best restaurants in the state. When you visit, you’ll quickly see there’s no place quite like Tuscaloosa.

Travel

Serviced by two major interstates (I-20 & I-59), Tuscaloosa is a convenient drive from neighboring states of Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and northern Florida, as well as eastern Louisiana. If your trip calls for air travel, Tuscaloosa is a one-hour drive from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and a three-hour drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, both of which are serviced by all major U.S. air carriers. Rental cars and paid shuttles are available from each airport to Tuscaloosa.

With over 50 hotels in the Tuscaloosa metropolitan area, you have a plethora of options to choose from and a choice to fit any budget. Please be advised, hotels in the Tuscaloosa area have limited availability and above average pricing on weekends of Crimson Tide football home games and UA Commencement. If you’re planning to visit on a weekend when one of those events occur, additional accommodations can be found in Birmingham and Hoover, Alabama.
