You will receive an email that includes information about whether your campus tour will begin at the Ferguson Theater inside the UA Student Center. Most weekday tours begin in the Undergraduate Admissions Welcome Center, located on the second floor of The University of Alabama Student Center in room 2300.

Arriving on Campus

  • To allow time for parking and check-in, please arrive on campus at least thirty minutes before your scheduled tour time.
  • To avoid receiving a parking ticket, please sign in with one of our admissions representatives before your tour. We will provide a parking hangtag, which must be displayed on your rear-view mirror while parked on campus.
  • Due to limited space on the tour, we cannot guarantee space for guests who have not registered online. If you determine that you need to register additional guests, please use the edit registration button in the email confirmation that you received. If your party has more than four individuals total, please email campustours@ua.edu and include the name on your registration along with the date and time of your tour and how many guests you will have during your visit. We cannot guarantee space above the number of seats you are registered for but we will do our best to accommodate your entire party.

Other Tips

  • Admissions Representatives are available to speak with families at your convenience. Prior appointments are not necessary.
  • Please be prepared for the tour by wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the season. We encourage you to check the Tuscaloosa weather forecast prior to your visit.
  • Remember: The University of Alabama operates in the Central time zone. All tour times are displayed in Central time.

Accessibility

Please note that a portion of the tour is a walking tour. To request special accommodations, please include specific needs in the comment section of the registration form.

Service animals (dogs that are trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability) are welcome on campus and can accompany their owners on campus tours. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed on university tours under any circumstances.

The driving directions below are intended to provide you with the simplest route.

From Highway 82 West

  • After crossing the intersection of Skyland Boulevard and McFarland Boulevard, continue three miles to the University Boulevard exit off Highway 82 West.
  • Take the University Boulevard exit off Highway 82 West.
  • Turn right off the exit onto University Boulevard
  • Continue on University Boulevard for 1.5 miles.
  • Turn right onto Campus Drive West at the red light at the intersection of University Boulevard and Campus Drive West.
  • There are two parking options. The first option is a no-cost open lot and the second option is parking garage with a parking fee. The first hour is $1.00 and each subsequent hour is $2.00 with a maximum daily charge of $10.00. A credit or debit card will be required for both entrance and exit. Both locations are adjacent to both the Welcome Center in The University of Alabama Student Center and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions located in the Student Services Center
  • To enter the pay deck, continue on Campus Drive West to McCorvey Avenue. Pass underneath the pedestrian bridge and turn left onto McCorvey Avenue. The entrance to the pay deck will be on your left. To enter the no-cost open lot, continue on Campus Drive West through the stop signs and travel under the pedestrian bridge. Continue straight and turn left on 7th Avenue.

From Highway 82 East (From Golden Triangle Airport)

You will travel a total of 3.1 miles and go through 9 traffic lights from the intersection of Highway 82 and Highway 69.

  • From the intersection of Highway 82 and Highway 69, continue on Highway 82 through Northport. Continue on Highway 82 East/McFarland Boulevard for approximately 4.5 miles.
  • After crossing the Black Warrior River on the Woolsey Finnel Bridge, take the first exit after crossing the bridge onto Jack Warner Parkway.
  • Continue on Jack Warner Parkway for 1.25 miles. Turn left onto Hackberry Lane.
  • Continue on Hackberry Lane for a short time and turn right at the red light onto McCorvey Avenue.
  • There are two parking options. The first option is a no-cost open lot and the second option is parking garage with a parking fee. The first hour is $1.00 and each subsequent hour is $2.00 with a maximum daily charge of $10.00. A credit or debit card will be required for both entrance and exit.   • To enter the pay deck, continue on McCorvey Avenue and turn right into the pay deck. To enter the no-cost open lot, continue on McCorvey Avenue past Lakeside Dining and turn left onto 2nd Avenue and then turn left on 7th Avenue. Continue on 7th Avenue and turn left into the no-cost open lot.

From Highway 359

Continue north on Interstate 359. The Tuscaloosa Police Department will be on your left. Interstate 359 will become Highway 69, which will lead you into downtown Tuscaloosa.

  • Continue on Interstate 359 North/Highway 69 North for approximately four miles to downtown Tuscaloosa. Turn right onto University Boulevard.
  • Continue 1.25 miles on University Boulevard.
  • Turn left onto Campus Drive West at the red light at the intersection of University Boulevard and Campus Drive West. CVS and Publix will be on your left.

From Highway 69 South

You will travel a total of 3.1 miles and go through 9 traffic lights from the intersection of Highway 82 and Highway 69.

  • Continue on Highway 69 South from your location of origin to the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 82.
  • From the intersection of Highway 82 and Highway 69, continue on Highway 82 through Northport. Continue on Highway 82 East/McFarland Boulevard for approximately 4.5 miles.
  • After crossing the Black Warrior River on the Woolsey Finnel Bridge, take the first exit after crossing the bridge onto Jack Warner Parkway.

  • Take exit #71B onto Interstate 359 North/Highway 69 North.
  • Continue on Interstate 359 North/Alabama Highway 69 North for approximately four miles to downtown Tuscaloosa. Turn right onto University Boulevard.

  • Take Highway 43 South. Continue through the intersection of Highway 43 and Mitt Lary Road (passing a Winn-Dixie on your right, a CVS on your left, and a McDonald’s ahead on your right) to Highway 82 East/McFarland Boulevard.
  • Turn left onto Highway 82 East/McFarland Boulevard. Continue on Highway 82 East/McFarland Boulevard for 4.5 miles.
  • After crossing the Black Warrior River on the Woolsey Finnel Bridge, take the first exit after crossing the bridge onto Jack Warner Parkway.
